There are a great deal of common beliefs and habits that many athletes tend to struggle with. If you as an athlete can learn to appreciate the following mental conditioning truths, you will be able to appreciate a perspective shift that may elevate your performances. REMEMBER: A successful athlete’s focus is on the development of their performance, not the outcome.

  • 5. There are no quick fixes when it comes to mental conditioning. To see mental improvements, regular mental skills training is necessary just as often as you practice improving your physical conditioning and technical skills.
  • 6. “Mistakes are building blocks to future success.” Don’t ever be afraid of making mistakes since every mistake is an opportunity to learn from it, leading you to become better.
