Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy student Michelle Larcher de Brito advanced to the final round of qualifying for the French Open today with a three-set victory over Yuliana Fedak. Larcher de Brito took the first set 6-3 and had two match points in the second set but couldn’t close it out. She lost the second set in a tiebreaker and then was broken in the first game of the third set. She is resilient though, and broke right back and went on to win the match 6-3 in the third. Larcher de Brito, who is only 16 years old, will face Ekaterina Ivanova of Russia who is ranked #150 in the world in the final round.
