The first stage of the US Open qualifier was held yesterday at the Ritz Carlton Members Club. The conditions played tough with the course playing over 7,400 yards and that combined with the rain, the weather delays and the soggy conditions made for a long day of golf.
DLGA Senior Instructor, Kevin Collins, was one of the first in the clubhouse. He birdied his last hole of the day to come in with a 1-under par 71. Kevin has been a DLGA instructor for 10 years and over that time has continued to play competively both nationally and internationally.
DLGA senior, and soon-to-be Florida Gator, Tommy Mou - also shot 71. Tommy made it through the local qualifier last year as well.
DLGA graduate and current Alabama player, Spencer Cole, also tied Tommy and Kevin with a round of 71.
All three will now move on the the sectional qualifier which will be played at Lake Nona Country Club in Orlando, FL on June 8th.
