For David Leadbetter Golf Academy student Alexa Rancourt, the past few weeks have been a time for ultra-success on the course and in the classroom.
Since March, Rancourt has won her first Future Collegians World Tour event and was named the winner of the Carpe Diem Award by The Pendleton School, which is given to the senior with the highest GPA. She’ll take her classroom and golf skills to Furman University in South Carolina next year.
Originally from South Portland, Maine, Rancourt had won a number of events in her home state, but her two-shot victory in the FCWT/DLGA IMG Championship in March gave her a win over some of the top juniors in the world. At Pendleton, she’s involved with the Leadership Council and Habitat for Humanity. She was also inducted into the National Honor Society.
As the award winner, she’ll present a speech at the June 5 commencement. Congrats, Alexa!
