Mallory Cecil

Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy alum Mallory Cecil is playing in her first season at Duke University, and it didn’t take her long to show her stuff. Cecil, ranked #50 but playing in the top spot, beat the #1 ranked player in college Maria Mosolova of Northwestern 7-6(6), 6-7(3), 7-5 to help propel the Dukies to an upset victory. After splitting the first two sets, Mosolova went up 5-2 in the third, but Cecil put the clamp down and didn’t let her win another game.
